How should I get my visa and if I overstay can my visa be extended in Pakistan?

All nationalities need to obtain a visa for entry into Pakistan. Tourists are advised to contact the nearest Pakistan Embassy/High Commission in your country.

If you hand in your passport in person at a Pakistan Embassy or High Commission in your country, your visa is usually processed and returned to you on same day.

If you intend to apply by post give your self plenty of time, applications by post usually take two to three weeks to process.

If you overstay you can extend your visa from passports office in the cities. In Northern Areas and Chitral tourist visa can now be extended by the District Coordinating Officers or local passport offices.
